Overview

apocalypse: from ancient Greek apokalyptein, meaning “to uncover, disclose, reveal,” literally, “to lift the cover”

We have reached a transformative and revelatory moment in human history. The old stories that once told us who we were and gave us our sense of place in the world no longer hold; something new is emerging even as we grapple with a sense that things are falling apart.

Through the teachings of the prophets and mystics of the world’s wisdom traditions, contemporary science, and through a process of shared inquiry into the contemporary political and cultural landscape, Theodore Richards will explore the new story that is emerging at this crucial moment in human history. As we experience the fear of a loss of meaning and an erosion of our sense of place, this program is an exploration into the apocalyptic nature of our age and an invitation to dream of a new world.
