Description
This one-day retreat teaches ways to face life’s challenges with more ease, calm, awareness and balance. In a peaceful environment with a supportive community, you will learn from the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, and John Kabat-Zinn, the founder of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction. The program combines guided meditation sessions, gentle movement practices, and practical tools for:
- learning various meditation forms (sitting, walking, breathing, body scan)
2. sharing the philosophy of Thich Nhat Hanh and practice of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction
3. participant dialogue
4. forest bathing, a practice of therapeutic relaxation in a natural setting, focusing on sensory engagement to connect with nature

You also have the option of bundling this event with the Quiet Day for Renewal, which begins Friday, May 9 at 6:30 pm and concludes Saturday at 4:00 pm. The group will gather for an opening reflection and a brief closing reflection, with the rest of the time in silence and solitude plus participation in “A Day of Mindfulness: Rest, Reflect, and Rejuvenate.” The cost for the bundle is $170, which covers two meals, overnight accommodations, the seminar and resources for time in silent retreat.

Payment must be received to complete registration.
