The Political Is Spiritual Program at Siena Retreat Center

Overview

Description
Explore an approach to social justice that recognizes the role of spirituality in political change.

Scriptures tell us not to resist an evildoer, yet we are called to work for peace and social justice. What is the difference between activism and resistance? Learn how the political is spiritual  and how resistance can actually aid in reproducing oppressive institutions and the existence of various –isms.

Rev. Dr. Solstice will share how to transcend resistance and move more directly towards love through an affirmative, heart-centered approach to social change and to living. In addition to a short presentation, this event will include spiritual exercises and journaling.
