Spirituality Alive-4

“A vision, a shared vision is born at the deepest level of our lives. Space opens among us. We feel the thirst, the stretch- a commitment to participation in a new way.”

- Mary Jo Leddy, NDS, adapted

Series: Today, holy stretching graces are moving in us and our world in both frightening and profound ways.  Within today’s upsets and complexities, the Mystery of Love is pressing on us transformation of minds and hearts.  We lean in close to listen for the Heartbeat of the Divine.  We want to commit ourselves to be changed, however risky and deep it will be.  We step out in trust, our spirituality sensitive, alive, and needed beyond ourselves.

Sessions will include presentation, reflection, sacred conversation, and some suggested readings.   We encourage you to participate in the whole series as a growth opportunity for you, and for the value of community and continuity.  However, you may register for individual dates if you cannot make the whole series.

Session for November 7:   “God Wants To Be Found Among The Living”   —Pope Francis

Do we love life?  Are we life-givers? Have we let go of enough that we can rise ungrasping to new life?  Is our spirituality alive, and lively?  Have we zest?  Have we joy?  Can we endure?  Can we say Yes and give our energies to this new moment of faith and human journey?  Are we open to a next transformation, and the next after that?!  The spirit is moving.  “What we need,” wrote Theodore Roethke, “is more people who specialize in the impossible.”  Let’s “be found among the living.”

We are being wonderfully stretched by the Transformative Spirit moving in our world today.  Within church and society grace is prying us loose from old paradigms of privilege, security, certainty, self, and dominance--toward the spiritual rigors of human and planetary communion.  Reflection together can help us as we join our commitment to the “something greater”—a new openness in Faith, a more profound courage in Hope, and an ever wider scope of Love.

$10 per session or $35 for the series of four.
