Indigenous spirituality draws from the cultural wisdom of a people.  It involves the integration of beliefs, worldviews, spiritual practices, and cultural values of an ethnic group.  Join us for the first of Siena Retreat Center’s annual Indigenous Spirituality Series.

10am-2pm

Searching for God is a creative process around the globe and throughout history done both individually and in cultural groupings.   During this day of reflection we will contemplate the variety of factors in Scandinavia-- geographical location, Vikings, politics, etc--to appreciate their spiritual story and gifts to the rest of us.

Ellen Kogstad is the daughter of Norwegian immigrants.  This reality has shaped her life story and spirituality.  Ellen is a spiritual director serving as Director of the Center for Spiritual Direction at North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago.  She also serves the poor at New Moms as Director of Spiritual Formation.  Ellen can always appreciate one more book and one more pair of earrings.

Cost of $35 includes the noon meal.
