Facing Our Power & Priviledge in a Stratified Culture

“I look forward confidently to the day ...when we bring into full realization the American dream - a dream of equality of opportunity, of privilege and property widely distributed; ... the dream of a country where every man will respect the dignity and worth of the human personality.”

- Martin Luther King

Fish are distinct from the sea, but their health is determined by the waters that surround them. In the murky seas of our times, many citizens and people of faith are newly and painfully aware of how deeply we have been shaped by the powers and prejudices of the cultural sea we live in.  In this reflective workshop we will dive deeply to:

--  recognize the dynamics of judgment and stratification in our culture, systems, and ourselves|
-- open our spirits to transformation from privilege and separateness to equality and communion
-- consider practices, actions, or tools from a variety of provided resources relating to aspects participants would like to better understand or implement
-- commit ourselves humbly and faithfully to the personal and common journey.

Bring your hearts and experiences as we reflect, pray, and commit to change, together.
