Act Justly, Walk Humbly: An Evening with John Neafsey

“This is what Yahweh asks of you: only this, to act justly, to love tenderly and to walk humbly with your God. ”

- Mich 6:6-8

If the prophet Micah was right, the only thing that really matters is that we become just, loving and humble persons during our short lives here on this earth.  This is our fundamental human vocation.  It is also the subject of John Neafsey’s most recent book, Act Justly, Love Tenderly:  Lifelong Lessons in Conscience and Calling.

During this special evening, John will do some short readings from his book and share some thoughts on the call to justice, love, and humility in today’s world.  A dessert reception and book signing will complete the evening.

Friday, November 17, 2017
The evening begins at 7:00pm.

John Neafsey is a clinical psychologist in private practice who serves on the staff of the Heartland Alliance Marjorie Kovler Center, a treatment program for immigrant survivors of torture in Chicago.  John is the author of three books, including A Sacred Voice is Calling: Personal Vocation and Social Conscience (Orbis, 2006), Crucified People (2014), and Act Justly, Love Tenderly (2016).  John and his family are active members of St. Gertrude's parish in Chicago.

Cost of $15 includes the program and reception.
